The call for admission to the PhD in Political Science is generally published between the end of April and the end of July. The selection procedure takes place between June and July, or by mid-September at the latest. All information will be available at the University’s channels. However, the number of students admitted to the Doctoral Programme changes year after year, depending on the number of scholarships available and the results of the selection process.
Candidates may be admitted at any time as supernumerary students if they have a scholarship funded by the European Union or, in the case of non-EU citizens, by their Countries. * The Regulations of the PhD Course in Political Science are currently under review, and their approvali s expected approximately in January 2026
Admission Requirements
Applicants must have a master’s degree (or an equivalent qualification), present a detailed and persuasive research project, demonstrate the mastery of the topics relevant to their research field, and have a good knowledge of the English language.
The selection of PhD candidates will take place based on the evaluation of:
- an academic curriculum (average of exams, final degree grade, prizes and awards obtained) and scientific achievements (publications, scholarships or research, internships, etc.);
- a research project related to the scientific-disciplinary sectors of the PhD Programme;
- an interview that will focus on the project and the candidate’s research interests.
