Presentation of projects, progression to the following year, and achievement of the PhD degree

Presentation of projects

At the beginning of the academic year, first-year PhD students are invited to present their research projects to the PhD Academic Board and to other PhD students who are already enrolled.

The presentation of the projects is intended as a training opportunity to gain feedbacks on one’s work both from supervisors, teachers and colleagues.

In the same venue, doctoral students who have respectively completed the first and second years of the Course submit a written report on the activity carried out (using the appropriate template), to be delivered by the deadline established by the Academic Board of the PhD Programme. Third-year doctoral students submit a final three-year report, which lists the set of activities carried out during the entire doctoral cycle, along with a draft of the thesis.

Absence from the end-of-year interviews, unless previously justified by the Board, will result in the PhD student being ineligible for the following year or, in the case of third-year students, for the final exam. For the procedures for submitting the thesis, preliminary evaluation, discussion, and related deadlines, please refer to the University’s PhD Regulations (only in Italian).
